K.P DENNIS is a black, non-binary, multi-disciplinary artist, producer, director, and activist. They were the 2016 Youth Poet Laureate of Victoria and are currently the artistic director of COLORQODED, QTI2POC arts collective. In 2017 they were the recipient of the VACCS Community recognition Award and just finished a cross Canada tour with their critically acclaimed shows, Monica vs the Internet & LUBDUB.
They were born in London, England, but have lived in Jamaica and Ontario throughout their youth. They now reside in Victoria, BC where they are living and working as a full time artist.
Since moving to Victoria in 2014, K.P Dennis has been the city’s Youth Grand Slam Champion (2015), and the Youth Poet Laureate (2016). In the summer of 2017 Dennis co-created and directed an award winning Fringe Show, Monica vs. the Internet: Tales of a Social Justice Warrior and just finished a cross Canada tour with the Monica vs the Internet remount and their social justice cabaret LUBD UB. K.P has also received the VACC Community Excellence Award, and Best Screen Narrative from the Sunscreen Film Festival.
They have just created their first chapbook, Growing Pains, a collection of their 'early works' of poetry, with artwork by Jess Burgoyne-King,
